There are many different types of bearing out there. Today we are going to look into some of the different types of bearings.
Ball Bearings
These are possibly one of the most common types of bearings. A ball bearing consists of a row of balls trapped between two pieces of metal known as races. The inner race will rotate whilst the outer race is stationary. The main use of ball bearings is to control the rotational motion.
Roller Bearings
This consists of a cylindrical rolling element between the two races rather than balls. Due to them being in contact with their inner and outer races, it allows them to support much heavier loads.
These are two different types of bearings. It is important that you conduct in depth research into each type of roller bearing before you begin using them. This will help to ensure you have the right bearing for the job.
