Food and drink is an important part of the manufacturing industry, and it is a sector that employs an estimated 400,000 workers. Associated British foods are based in London and they are one of the largest food producers in the UK, seeing many of their products exported to various countries.
There is often talk about the UK manufacturing industry declining; with more foreign foods coming in to the UK, and less being made and sold closer to home, but with more people looking to purchase British products, improvement are to be expected in the food manufacturing sector.
