When selling a business or business related assets it’s important to assess any potential buyers. This means finding out the primary reason why the individual or company is interested in buying your business, and also checking some relevant facts and figures.
Assessing buyers includes reviewing current business ownership, available investment funds, sources of financing and any past bankruptcies that have been filed. All of this is important information that will determine whether the company or person is going to be a good choice for the sale. Also be sure to find out who has the business knowledge, management experience and complementary skills to take raise the company to the next level.
This can be done by looking at past experience in acquisitions, finding out if they are actively involved in their community, and their track record of success in their other ventures and jobs. These factors will signify whether the CEO is a good boss, or if they may be lacking in some areas.
